Carbon Fiber Applications

Service Description

Bulldog CRW is an approved applicator of Sika® carbon fiber systems

Concrete reinforcement using carbon fiber involves the use of carbon fiber sheets, strips, or bars to strengthen concrete structures. Carbon fiber is a high-strength material that is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and has a high modulus of elasticity, which means it can resist deformation under load.

To reinforce concrete with carbon fiber, the carbon fiber sheets, strips, or bars are embedded in the concrete during construction. The carbon fiber reinforcement is then bonded to the concrete using an adhesive or resin, which provides a strong and durable bond.

Carbon fiber reinforcement is used to improve the strength and durability of concrete structures, such as bridges, buildings, and roads. It can also be used to repair and strengthen existing structures that have been damaged or weakened by factors such as corrosion, weathering, or seismic activity.

The use of carbon fiber reinforcement in concrete construction has several advantages over traditional reinforcement materials, such as steel. Carbon fiber is lighter and stronger than steel, which reduces the weight of the structure and allows for easier transportation and installation. It is also more corrosion-resistant than steel, which increases the durability of the structure and reduces maintenance costs.
